CLUBS AND SCHOOL SERVICE
|
JUNIOR POLICE OFFICERS Selected fifth and six grade students help to monitor traffic safety at the intersections, parking lot and on the upper campus.They go on dutyfrom 7:30 to 7:45am, before school and from 2:05 to 2:20pm after school Monday through Friday, except Wednesday. On Wednesday afternoons they go on duty from 12:20 to 12:35pm. On rainy days, you can notice them with their brightly colored orange vests or yellow raincoats.

LIBRARY MONITORS Students in grades 3-5 help to process books. They help the Librarian with stamping and shelving books to prepare them for use.

STUDENT MEDIATORS (SHAPERS) Selected students in grades 4-6, working in teams, help teachers at recess periods using conflict resolution strategies. They are trained in mediation techniques and work with students in resolving minor problems during recess.

|
STUDENT COUNCIL Student representatives in grades 3-6 are elected and help with the many school activites. They plan, organize and implement fund fundraisers, community programs such as Food Bank Drives, help build school spirit, help at assemblies and with other school programs. Each month they plan the last Wednesday of the month's School Spirit and Patriotic Assembly

TECHNOLOGY MENTORS Fifth and Sixth grade students help students in the Computer Lab when their classes come to work on projects. They need to be highly skilled in computers, willing to learn new strategies, as well as and willing to teach others. They work closely with the Technology Coordinator.

OFFICE, LIBRARY, CAFETERIA SERVICE Throughout the year, students from the sixth grades help in the office and library. They provide great service to the school. At the same time, they are learning essential lessons in courtesy, appreciation, as well as office and library skills. Grade 3-5 students help in the serving of lunch. Student representatives participaet on the School Safety Committee and the School/Community-Based Management Council.
