May Day 2003

This year's May Day celebration brought together all the Parents, Students, Teachers, Faculty, and Staff of Ahuimanu Elementary to honor the acheivements and contributions that made 2002/2003 a banner year for the school.

A small slide show with images from the day has been setup along with a webpage that has been dedicated to the late Kupuna Lorraine Smith. The initial load of the slideshow may take a little more time than usual.

Fitness Center Dedication
April 7, 2003
Prior to Spring Break, ground broke and concrete for the new Fitness Center was poured. During the Spring Break, construction for the the new Fitness Center took place. After the Spring Break, the school got it's first glimpse of the new Fitness Center. Now, all that was needed was a party to dedicate the Fitness Center and welcome it to Ahuimanu Elementary.

Ahuimanu's New Fitness Center

As one its initiatives for the school year 2002-2003, the Ahuimanu School Ohana decided to pursue the construction of a Physical Fitness Center. The Ohana wanted a Physical Fitness Center that would provide the children of Ahuimanu Elementary School with age appropriate, safe, fun, and challenging outdoor fitness equipment that could be integrated into the school's physical education curriculum and achieve the following goals.

WOG-A-THON 2003
January 31, 2003
On the day after the 100th school day of the year, Ahuimanu Elementary School held it's Second Annual WOG-A-THON to raise money for the school's Fitness Center that the 'Ohana has been working to build. Despite the weather and changing the course from the Ahuimanu District Park to the school parking lot, Ahuimanu students once again showed how they shine.

Castle Complex Webproject
January 30, 2003
With the supported of a grant, the Castle Area Complex of Windward Schools got together at Kaneohe Elementary to design and build websites to represent their schools in a website that will encompass the Windward area schools. Two Ahuimanu students were there for a few days of some serious web grinding.

Ahuimanu Fun Fair 2002

The weather had been raining and wet, the clouds were dark and threatening, and mud puddles were everywhere. But that was not going to get in the way of all those who made the Annual Ahuimanu Fun Fair a big success. A Big Mahalo to all those who participated and supported this years Fun Fair.
