Fundraising Chair sought for next year's activities.
The Ohana is looking for representatives for next school year's Fun Fair and the Spring/Fall Fundraisers. The Ohana would like to solicit parental input into the fundraising process so they can take ownership of the activity. Some parents have expressed displeasure as to the types of fundraisers that have taken place. These are the parents that we would like to hear from. All ideas from the Ahuimanu community are welcome.
Anyone interested in more information or has ideas on fundraising preferences, please join the Ohana at the monthly meeting or contact our present fundraising chair Kahea Souza at the school.

Ahuimanu begins process to adopt ACT 51 - Reinventing Education Act of 2004
Ahuimanu has begun the process to implement ACT 51 - Reinventing Education Act of 2004. At the first SCC meeting held in conjunction with the January Ohana meeting, presentations were given that outlined the keys points of ACT 51 and how it will affect our school. Castle Complex Super Lea Albert was onhand to help the SCC, visiting parents, and the Ohana with understanding the various aspects of the School Community Council. At the meeting nomination forms were also handed out and a timeline was set for the election process to take place. The long time SCBM will be replaced with the SCC.
The Ohana's website will be updating it's site to reflect the changes and to help everyone understand a little more about the new School Community Council.
To find out more about ACT 51, a PDF has been provided below that can be downloaded.
