Darin shared designs developed by his company. James shared another design. Darrin will integrate James’ ideas into another set of designs. Robert will coordinate with Melissa to coordinate for Student Council to decide on the final shirt design.
Decided to stick with ONE (1) color shirt for easier tracking and distribution.

Lois reports “Academic & Financial Plan” has been
submitted
Election results for Parent Teacher Conferences to be held in 2 all-day sessions rather than partial-day in 1 week. Request for waiver days submitted for two staff development days and the two days for parent/teacher conferences.

$600 grant received to use toward a science program
Bishop Museum Holoholo Sciene Program is $800 for < 1500 attendees, $1100 < 300 people.

Seeking Fun Fair co-chair for upcoming fall event who will take over as chairperson the following year.

attending State HSA Workshop which will cover acceptable responses on the HSA.

Administration
HSA Testing from April 9th to 13th. American Institute of Research was selected after Harcourt was dismissed as the company that will design and grade the tests. There will also be one (1) National Terra Nova test.
Jade Bright received “Teacher of Promise Award”.
There are currently eight (8) student-teachers at Ahuimanu.
Starting in Jan. 2008 – Ahuimanu is scheduled to be refurbished (painting, white boards to replace chalk boards, etc.
Evacuation drill – Kids and faculty did very well with procedures. All safety drills practiced monthly.
School Quality Surveys should be completed and returned by the select parents who received them.

Membership/Communications
School in
40 Christmas cards sent to Ohana members. Will investigate sending more out next year to those who actively support the Ohana.
$1400 for math and art teacher, Dorinda Lum, approved by a unanimous vote of the Board.
$500 for Science Night approved. See description above under “Workshops”.
