Aloha and Welcome to the Ahuimanu Ohana Website. This page outlines some of the features that this website will have to offer to the Ahuimanu community and the school.
As a way of keeping our community informed, this website will be providing information related to the activities of the Ahuimanu Ohana and will act as a supplement to Ahuimanu's official school website. The links that run across the top of the pages provide the basic structure of these activities and will be the heart of the information available at this website.
Using certain web technologies, the Ohana website is being designed to allow for the easy updating and maintenance of the pages. Authorized users will be able to login to their pages and easily edit and change the content of the pages.
Another feature would like to use the internet as a means to provide information through the use of e mail. The website will allow parents, students, and other community members to subscribe to an e mail list and receive periodic e mail messages. This feature will also allow for various administrators to have access to the list and send messages.
A guestbook is also being incorporated into the website as a means to find out how the community responds to the website, offer suggestions, and even tell us how we're doing.
While it is still in the stages of development the Ohana Website would like to become a useful resource of valuable information about Ahuimanu and it's Ohana activities.
For the technically curious, the Ahuimanu Ohana website is being served on a RedHat Linux server, using Apache to serve the pages. It also has some PHP, CGI, and Javascript thrown in to add some flavor to the site. :-)
